Fishing on Liptovská Mara

Liptovská Mara reservoir r.č :3-5340-1-1 is 100m distant from the fishing village and offers a wide range of fishing opportunities. One of the best stocked and most popular water for carp in Slovakia.There is a rich representation of following fish:carp - up to 28 kg, perch - up to 15kg, grouper – up to 2.5 kg, pike - up to 25kg, tench, bream,roach, asp, rainbow trout, brown trout, catfish and eel. Fish can be taken from shore or boat. When fishing from a boat it is allowed to also use the gasoline engine.

Gasoline engines and boats can be rented in the fishing village.

Fishing is permitted from 01 06. Till 15.03. Fishing spinning and catching a fish is permittedfrom from 15.06 till 01.31 Fishing is permitted on two rods when fishing for hard and swam. Whenfishing using spinning and fly fishing, you can use only one rod. Fisherman may in one day keep up to 2 pieces of carp, tench, pike, perch, catfish, sore, or their combination, or 4 pieces of salmon fish, including Lipno and podustvy but not more than 7 kg of fish.

Water tank area (2160 ha) is the dam body up to the railway bridge at the river Vah in VN. Fishing is permitted 100m from the dam, incaged breeding fish hunting is permitted within 100 m of each side.Prohibition of fishing is in the site of CHA Ratkovie. In this section, fishing is allowed only from the coast side in northwest corner of the Ratkovská Bay ( lot #. 1104 / 5) from 1 July till 31 December. The yearlong ban on fishing is in birds island and artificial island.

Fisherman’s duties:

Fisherman mus carry with him:

- fishing ID (if a member of the SRZ)
- fishing ticket
- fishing license
- scale to measure the length of caught fish
- dosgorger and landing net

After the expiration of a fishing license fisherman is required to return his license to an organization which issued it. Fisherman must write date of fishing in the report before fishing and caught fish enter in the survey immediately after catching it.

daily – 10 EUR, per week - 30 EUR

non-members and foreigners:
daily – 17 EUR, per week - 70 EUR

The permit fishing license is required:

monthly: 3 EUR

year: 6,50 EUR

3-year: 16,50 EUR

Fishing in CSE Bešeňová

Water buffer tank Bešeňová (193 hectares) r.č :3-6040-4-4 is 8km away from the fishing village. It's trout water with catch and release scheme which is rich in trophy trout also rainbow and creek trout. Fishing is permitted from 16.04 to 30.9.

Daily fishing hours:
April and September: od 6.00 do 19.00 hod.,
May and August: od 5.00 do 21.00 hod.,
June and July: od 4.00 do 22.00 hod.,

Prices for guest permits:

Members of SRZ: daily – 7 EUR,

non-members and foreigners: daily – 20 EUR,

The permit fishing license is required:

weekly 1,5 - EUR,

monthly 3 - EUR,

year 6,5 - EUR,

3-year 16,50 - EUR.

The surroundings provide a number of other fishing opportunities on the river Vah and its tributaries.

Lipňový district:

Vah No.20, t.č.3-4710-6-4part of river Vah from the begining of Liptovská Mara under the railway bridge up to the road bridge at the hotel "Janosik"in Lipt. Mikulas „District with the regime of "catch and release“. Hunting allowed from 01.06 to 31.12. fly fishing,or floated using the pitfalls of plant origin.

Trout territories :

Vah No.21,r.č.3-4720-4-1 part of river Vah from a road bridge at the hotel"Janosik" in Lipt. Mikulas. Up to the confluence with the river Bela Lipt. Hradok.

Demänovka r.č.3-0640-4-1River Demänovka from the junction with river Vah up to the roadbridge below the ice cave.

Štiavnica, r.č.3-3990-4-1 Štiavnica River from the confluence with river Váh the roadbridge before Stanišovskou valley.

Smrečianka, r.č.3-3800-4-1 Smrečianka River from the confluence with river Váh the roadbridge before Žiarska valley.

Kvačianka,r.č.3-1810-4-1 Creek Kvacianska from the begining of VN Lipt. Mara, up to the Tatra National Park buffer zone, including the Dry Creek.

More about trout waters:

Method of fishing: Fishing is allowed from16.4 to 30.9 spinning the dead goldfish,artificial or imitation fish, or fly fishing, with no more than three flies on the streamer.

Other fishing methods are prohibited!

In one day of fishing can fisherman take up to 4 pieces of salmonids (including ), or a combination thereof.

Fisherman is required:

- write in the permit current date prior to the start of Fishing,

- writhe the fish description immediately after its catch,

- follow to prescribed fish size and permitted fishing hours,
